September is Muscular Dystrophy Awareness month. Each September you will see local firefighters collecting money in their turnout boots in what has been coined the 'MD Boot Drive'.
Fire Fighters share a unique and special bond with both Muscular Dystrophy Canada, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association in the United States of America. In the same year MDC became an organization, 1954, the IAFF resolved to support muscular dystrophy associations to help make their campaigns a success.
We typically set up at popular shopping malls or other local businesses so that we can maximize our effectiveness. Sudbury is typically one of the top fundraisers for the Boot Drive in all of Ontario and it's all because of the generosity of it's citizens.
So, thanks to you Sudbury! Keep up the generosity!
